This requirement exists because TAE40122's practical assessments involve delivering training and assessing learners in your own vocational area. If you are planning to train hospitality students, for example, you need current skills and knowledge in hospitality — not just an interest in training.

Access to learners for practical assessment

To complete TAE40122, you need access to a group of real learners for your observed training delivery and competency assessment activities. This does not mean you need to be employed as a trainer before you start — but you do need a realistic plan for how you will access learners during your enrolment.
