What Units Make Up the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment?

TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is made up of units of competency drawn from the TAE Training and Education Training Package. Each unit addresses a specific area of trainer and assessor practice. Together, they build the full skill set required to work as a qualified VET trainer and assessor.

The qualification requires completion of a set number of core units and elective units. The core units address the essential, non-negotiable competencies all trainers and assessors must hold. The elective units allow for some specialisation based on the learner's context and role.

Elective units are selected based on the learner's training context, industry area and role. Common electives include units related to workplace training, mentoring, designing resources, and working with diverse learner groups. Your RTO will guide you in selecting electives that are relevant to your situation.
