The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Explained

TAE40122 is the nationally recognised qualification for VET trainers and assessors, and it's replaced the older TAE40116 and TAE40110 versions.

The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is the nationally recognised qualification for VET trainers and assessors in Australia. It replaces the previous TAE40116 and TAE40110 versions of the qualification, which are no longer sufficient for delivery of most nationally recognised training.

The TAE40122 covers:
  • Designing and developing training programs
  • Delivering training sessions to individuals and groups
  • Designing and developing assessment tools
  • Planning and conducting assessments
  • Providing and evaluating training and assessment services
  • Using e-learning and digital tools in training delivery

The TAE40122 is required for teachers who take on significant training and assessment responsibilities within a VETiS program, including designing assessments, marking student work, or making formal competency decisions about students.
