The TAESS00024 Skill Set Explained

For teachers in a facilitation role under RTO oversight, the TAESS00024 skill set may be the right fit — without the full TAE40122 workload.

For teachers whose role in a VETiS program is primarily facilitation — supporting student learning rather than formally assessing competency — the TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set may be sufficient.

The TAESS00024 is a skill set (a subset of units from the TAE Training Package) that focuses specifically on the context of delivering vocational education to secondary school students. It covers:

  • Understanding the regulatory context of VETiS delivery
  • Supporting student learning in a school-based vocational program
  • Communicating effectively with young learners in a vocational context
  • Understanding assessment requirements and the RTO's role in assessment

The TAESS00024 is not equivalent to the full TAE40122 and does not qualify the holder to independently assess competency or make formal qualification decisions. However, it is a recognised qualification for teachers supporting delivery under an RTO's Third Party Agreement.
