What Does an RTO Do in a VETiS Program?

An RTO's role in a VETiS program goes well beyond simply providing a qualification. A good RTO partner will:

• Hold the nationally recognised scope of registration required to issue the qualification
• Design and provide assessment tools that meet the requirements of the training package
• Mark and moderate all student assessment work
• Maintain compliance records including training and assessment strategies, attendance, and assessment evidence
• Issue qualifications and Statements of Attainment to eligible students
• Support the school's staff with training delivery resources and professional development
• Manage all reporting obligations to government bodies including ASQA and state training authorities
• Handle student enrolment, Unique Student Identifier (USI) registration, and data management

Choosing the right RTO is one of the most important decisions a school can make when establishing a VETiS program. The RTO is ultimately responsible for the quality of training and the integrity of qualifications issued — a poorly managed RTO can expose a school to compliance risks, student dissatisfaction, and reputational damage.
