Frequently Asked Questions About VETiS Qualifications and Pathways
Answers to the questions students, parents and Careers Practitioners most often ask about VETiS, QCE, and what comes after school.
Do VETiS qualifications contribute towards the QCE?
Yes. VETiS qualifications are an approved source of credit towards the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE), with higher-level qualifications generally contributing more than lower-level ones. Exact allocations are determined by QCAA — Blueprint's team can advise on current credit contribution for the qualifications we deliver.
Do students get a Statement of Attainment if they don't finish the full qualification?
Yes. Students who complete some but not all units of competency within a qualification are issued a Statement of Attainment for the units they have successfully completed. A Statement of Attainment is a formal credential under the Australian Qualifications Framework and is recognised by employers and further training providers.
Can VETiS qualifications lead directly to an apprenticeship?
Yes. In many industry areas — particularly Hospitality, Business, and Trade-related fields — a VETiS qualification at Certificate II level is a recognised entry point into a formal apprenticeship or traineeship. Some employers actively seek school-based VETiS graduates as apprenticeship candidates because they already understand workplace expectations and have demonstrated basic competency.
Can students continue studying their VETiS qualification after leaving school?
Yes. Nationally recognised qualifications are portable — a student who completes a Certificate II in Hospitality at school can continue to a Certificate III or beyond with another RTO after leaving school, and their completed units may be eligible for credit transfer. This is one of the key advantages of nationally recognised VETiS qualifications over school-based certificates.
Does Blueprint provide Statements of Attainment for students who withdraw mid-program?
Yes. Blueprint issues Statements of Attainment for all successfully completed units of competency, regardless of whether a student completes the full qualification. This ensures that no student leaves a program without formal recognition of what they have achieved.
