All trainers and assessments must have current industry skills to provide training that reflects current industry practice and valid assessment. Current industry skills need to be consistent with the requirements of any training packages or accredited courses that you are delivering. Your RTO’s will expect your to document your industry currency at least annually.
As part of the Standards, an RTO’s training and assessment may only be delivered by trainers and assessors who have current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided. You can demonstrate current industry skills by keeping up to date with changes in your industry. Stay in regular contact with industry workplaces and participate in workplace tasks. Release to industry is offered by many training organisations.
