What is VET in Schools (VETiS)? 

Australian secondary schools have long recognised that a university pathway is not the right fit for every student. For many young people, hands-on vocational training is a more meaningful, more motivating, and more directly employable path. VET in Schools — known as VETiS — exists to make that possible.

VETiS allows students to study nationally recognised vocational qualifications while still at school, delivered by or in partnership with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Students graduate with both their senior school credential and a qualification that is recognised by employers across Australia.

For Australian schools, VETiS represents an opportunity to broaden student pathways, improve engagement, and offer practical, career-focused subjects that complement the traditional academic curriculum.
