What specific inquiries should I make to an RTO (Registered Training Organization) regarding their VETiS-funded program?

Questions to ask RTO's VETiS Skills Assure Funded Program

  1. Assessment and Marking Process: Inquire about how the student assessments are conducted and who will be responsible for marking the assessments. Understand whether trainers will mark the student assessments, which can save time and allow them to focus more on their teaching workload.  Blueprint assessors mark all assessments.

  2. Industry Professional Development: Ask about the opportunities for participating in industry professional development. Enquire about the types of professional development offered and how it helps refresh their industry currency. Ask Blueprint about the 2-day, 1-night hospitality industry release in a 5-star hotel that includes accommodation, meals, and hands-on work.

  3. Additional Training Opportunities: Find out about training sessions provided throughout the year, such as coffee training and tea ceremony experiences, to help maintain their industry skills and stay up-to-date with industry trends.

  4. Costs: Clarify whether there are any costs associated with the partnership. Understand if the hospitality qualification and/or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be provided.  Speak to Blueprint as this training is included in the agreement.

By asking these specific inquiries, schools can gain a better understanding of how an RTOs VETiS-funded program can benefit the school, with a focus on industry-relevant skills, professional development opportunities, and cost-saving measures.
