Why should our school do VETiS?

Vocational education programs in schools, called VET in Schools (VETiS), were established with the specific aim of enabling students to undertake both nationally accredited vocational education and training (VET) programs (including part-time apprenticeships and traineeships) alongside programs that enable students to complete their secondary school certificates.

VETiS programs lead to nationally recognised and accredited VET qualifications.

The main aim of VETiS programs is to give students a head start in the jobs market by providing training that combines classroom-based learning with experience in actual or simulated workplaces, at the same time allowing the students to complete their secondary school studies.

A research report from NCVER found that between 15% and 24% of students from hospitality studies ended up in closely aligned occupations.
